“AXIS OF EVIL” ESSAY II: “COME DRINK THE WRATH”

The phrase “once saved, always saved” is at the heart of one of Christianity’s oldest and deepest running controversies. It is the belief that a person’s salvation is a permanent condition. Many Christians, including Catholics, commonly deny this doctrine. Several Protestants, including Southern Baptists, embrace this belief. Still others fall in between holding to the argument that if one’s salvation experience was indeed genuine, then that genuineness will be manifested in a secure salvation. In other words, if you backslide you were never truly repentant in the first place. Though I myself am a Southern Baptist, I have challenged this doctrine on the new Babylon Mystery Orchestra CD in a very big way. I have suggested that the infamous “mark of the beast” can, and will, be forced on people against their will. That especially includes Christians. I don’t make this assertion carelessly.

THE WORTHLESS, THE LESS THAN WORTHLESS, AND THE CURRENCY OF THE BEAST…pt. II

Events surrounding the sub-prime mortgage loan crisis are getting out of hand. Both democrats and republicans are clamoring for an economic stimulus package to help stave off the recession that the media is joyously claiming is certain to befall our economy. A decapitated economy bodes well for democrats in the upcoming presidential elections. Yet this rare display of bipartisanship is nothing to celebrate or gloat over. The democrats, after all, have had control over congress for the last year. Voters just might link their influence to these results. The bloviating on this issue has reached ridiculous proportions as everyone is trying to shirk their responsibility for this mess. A mess that is both desirable and deserved.

THE WORTHLESS, THE LESS THAN WORTHLESS, AND THE CURRENCY OF THE BEAST

There is an epidemic of arrogance in this country. I assure you this will not be about what you think it is. The foolish worship of the god of “self-esteem” has created a nation of people who literally have no clue of their true station in life. Americans, by and large, believe themselves, their opinions and their desires are actually important to others, particularly as that pertains to national and world affairs. The results of the last election attest to this presumption. Therefore I feel compelled in this small and insignificant space to take a stab at correcting some of this miss-perception. A “self-esteem” reduction, so to speak.
